Side-View Skull X-Rays
The side-view skull image (FRS or Ceph), on the other hand, is more the norm today but, from a scientific point of view, they are unnecessary for most treatment. It has to be said though that side-view skull X-rays have led to a lot of scientific findings without which modern orthodontics would be unthinkable. But their contribution to the planning of routine treatment is so negligible that those orthodontists who do not wish to compromise on quality usually do without these and thus spare their patients any unnecessary exposure to radiation. But unfortunately, some experts who still stick to the old standards occasionally make a fuss because they maintain that such images are in fact indispensable.
