The Insertion of Removable Braces
The removable braces made in the laboratory are placed in the mouth by the orthodontist and checked for accuracy of fit and tightness. A few minor adjustments to the retaining elements are usually necessary. Once this is done, the active elements of the braces can be activated. These can be screws or springs made of thin wires that are adjusted by the orthodontist so that they exert pressure on the teeth to be moved.
The patient is explained how to insert and remove the braces, how long to wear them and how to care for them. Finally, an appointment is made to check the braces.
